The system that keeps people in poverty

From a political standpoint, the poor are oppressed by the laws that the rich make. The rich pay taxes that are un-equivalent to the amount of tax percentage that the poor pay. The rich like to do this because the rich like to keep their economic position where its at and they don’t feel any kind of obligation to assist the poor with their debts. The laws that are in place also make it harder for someone who is poor to do something like start a business or provide decent health care. If the rich were to help out the poor with their businesses (if they wanted to make a business) then that would make a more industrial America. If the poor need to pay their bills and they’re paycheck doesn’t come for another week, then the banks gives loans to the poor but with interest. Interest is what makes the poor get even more poor. They cant see the light of day because when they have to pay bills that are overdue and other fees. If we can just help out the poor and give them the economic assistance that they need.

What can a life in poverty cause?

Besides not being able to buy really nice presents in christmas, being in poverty can actually reduce your life expectancy. If you have the option of spending $6 for a healthy salad or $2 for 2 delicious burgers and you’re poor, the latter seems like the better choice. However, over the long run, eating those burgers will cause problems like obesity and in turn reduce your life expectancy. Also, if you are poor, you won’t be able to live somewhere that is particularly safe. If you are poor, there is much more of a chance that you will die from a fatal disease because you can’t pay for medicine.

Factors contributing to the American Obesity Epidemic

There are many factors that contribute to this epidemic. These factors will all lead to a lifespan that was shorter then our previous generations. I believe that the fact that many people don’t need to play outside or do any exercise is one of the big reasons why so many people are obese. Another reason is that the food is filled with unhealthy things and that they are the cheaper food options too. Poverty is also a big factor because if you dont have the money to pay for healthy, organic food, then you wont be getting the good food that you need.
